The ROCK CANARY School Tour reduces stigma & celebrates Neurodiversity in schools.
We support Primary/Junior schools, by providing a fun-filled dance environment to facilitate belonging and connection - the protective barriers needed against neurodivergent isolation, shame, guilt, confusion and masking!
Inspired by The Canary Code by Ludmila Praslova and the historical role of canaries as early detectors of toxic air in coal mines, we celebrate the very qualities for a more united, healthy and happy future.

The same way we value biodiversity on our planet. Different minds bring different ways of thinking, solving problems, creating systems and seeing opportunities for today's world. Neurodiversity isn't something to overcome. It's something to understand and celebrate.
Glossary:

Neurodiversity: All humans. The diversity of brains across the human population.

Neurodivergent: A person whose brain functions, develops, learns, or processes information in ways that differ significantly from what is considered typical. The term commonly includes people with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia.

Neurotypical: A person whose neurological development and functioning generally fall within what society historically considers typical or expected. In everyday neurodiversity discussions, it's distinguishes people who are not neurodivergent.
My Story
ABOUT
I'm Jenny Bakker, with over 28 years of industry experience, I've advised more than 30 founders across B2B, B2C, and business services. Owned two successful agencies and worked with blue-chip brands, (Pepsico, Durex, Campari, Unilever, Red Bull, Barclay's and more).
But I have also spent much of my career trying to survive systems that were never designed for systems-thinkers. I’ve seen what exclusive (as opposed to inclusive) management practices does to people, how it erodes confidence, silences creativity, and leaves capable, good humans doubting themselves long after they leave the boardroom, classroom or home.
I’ve lived it.
And I’ve watched others live it too.
Today, my work has evolved into impact for neurodivergent individuals so that our children, don’t grow up fluent in inclusion in kindergarten, only to be unlearned in the "real world".

Why Neurodiversity-celebrating inclusion at SCHOOLS
Generally Ages 8 - 14yrs are formative years, there's a lot of masking, molding, sensing to belong.
Many students, struggle from extreme strengths and weaknesses or lessening their individuality in the hope of trying to belong. Too often, these experiences are interpreted as personal shortcomings rather than useful information...and this pattern is carried long-after school.
